The bass is already rattling the garage doors on White Oak Drive before you even clear the patio fence at Bobcat Teddy's. You're walking into a packed room where the air gets thick real fast. The door guy takes your cash and barely looks up while half a dozen people are already elbowing their way toward the long bar.

It's a loud neighborhood spot in the Heights that doesn't pretend to be some high-art listening room. You'll find a massive horseshoe bar dominating the center, and the crowd is usually spilled out onto the front deck with Lone Star tallboys. TVs glow above the taps, but nobody's really watching the game once the local band kicks into their second song and the floorboards start shaking.

Sound bounces off the brick walls and wood paneling, so don't expect pristine acoustics. You're standing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers sweating through flannel shirts, and you can't hear half of what your friend is screaming right next to your ear. Bathrooms are a gamble by midnight, but nobody cares because the patio breeze keeps the whole chaotic scene from boiling over into the street.
